Great news from Remo!
As you know, I recently inquired with Remo about this rim cracking issue, and was very pleased to hear back very quickly from Chris Wakelin, Customer Service, Remo, Inc. and he says:
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We HAVE made adjustments to the tooling (and the mixture of the rim production) to prevent premature cracking of the rim. Please provide customer names, #’s and addresses and I’ll get a replacement rim sent to them. I apologize for this inconvenience.
Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns."
If you have a cracked rim, please contact the store you bought your doumbek from, and have them arrange for a replacement or contact Chris (cwakelin@remo.com) directly at Remo. I'm sure he will be happy to help you out with a replacement. They don't seem to be currently selling the rims as a replacement part, just replacing cracked ones.
PS- I've posted a video on my YouTube channel comparing a couple of the Soloists, and Skyndeep head measuring as well. Many more ME percussion instrument video reviews on the way.
Thanks everyone.

I sell Remo doumbeks and this is the first I've heard of that, but I am checking with Remo about this topic and whether or not replacement rims are available.
